The Interesting History Behind Platform Eclipse

In the late 1990′s the development of Eclipse began. Today the successful application is evidence of technology. At the end of the 1990′s, IBM began a development tool platform that became known as Eclipse. Containing two worlds, one on tools that enabled microsofts directions on runtime execution support and the other centered on Java platform were IBMs goals. Being sure that a more open approach to IT was the way to its customers long time success. An opened source community focusing on building an open development platform. The non profit foundation that hosts the Eclipse projects is governed by Board of Directors. Developers and consumers hold seats on the board. With a full time professional staff, they provide services to the community. Eclipse is now the major non microsoft tool platform. Active marketing and promotion of Eclipse projects is the aspect of the community and the foundation being focused on creating an environment for open source projects and promoting of Eclipse technology. Eclipse is an IDE that is maintained by many software development leaders. The Eclipse platform is to provide an environment by creating plug ins. The plug ins are used to do tasks while developing a software products. The Eclipse got off to a great start.
